UK is first country where Volvo will test autonomous cars on public roads- DRIVE ME LONDON

Volvo choose London's roads to test their autonomous car next year. DRIVE ME LONDON

Volvo’s UK test, called Drive Me London, will go a step further than other programmes by using real families driving autonomous cars on public roads. The manufacturer has conducted tests with the same vehicles in Gothenburg since 2014, and plans a parallel public trial in the Swedish city next year.

Driverless technology will massively reduce the number of car accidents, cut congestion on roads and save time for motorists, Volvo says. Håkan Samuelsson, its president and chief executive, said: “Autonomous driving represents a leap forward in car safety. The sooner AD cars are on the roads, the sooner lives will start being saved.

The cars will record data from everyday users to help develop driverless cars for real-world conditions. It hopes to start the trials in early 2017 with a limited number of semi-autonomous cars, before placing up to 100 fully autonomous vehicles on the streets in 2018, in what the carmaker claims will be the most extensive public rollout of the technology in Britain.

Volvo, along with the rest of the auto industry, has been aggressively developing semi-autonomous and fully autonomous driving technology. Volvo’s goal, other than keeping up with its rivals, is that no drivers will be seriously injured or killed in a new Volvo by the year 2020.

Earlier this month, Volvo announced that it would expand a separate self-driving car project to China that it announced three weeks ago. Volvo, which was acquired by Zhejiang Geely Holding of China in 2010, has not picked a Chinese city for the project or disclosed when it will start.

2015 Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II

2015 Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II

Price start with £260 000.

Recognizing that money can be a sensitive subject in the wake of increasing income disparity in the United States, Rolls-Royce executives incessantly throw around the word “entrepreneur” to describe their Ghost clients. Everyone still loves the myth of the bootstraps.

Other myths punctuate the Rolls-Royce narrative: 60 craftsmen in Goodwood spend some 450 hours laboring over each custom, hand-finished automobile. Rolls-Royce says that in excess of 85 percent of the 4000 cars it will sell this year are bespoke, which means that if a buyer has a grove of trees on his estate, for example, he may choose to have some of that wood included in the interior trim. Or, in the case of Hong Kong billionaire Stephen Hung, he can just elect to have his wife’s car painted entirely pink.
With this clash between the traditional staid Rolls-Royce idioms (“Fetch the car, Alfred!”) and the shamelessness of our global culture, the inconsistency of a proud British firm being owned and run by the Germans at BMW seems much less important than it did a decade ago. That the underpinnings of the Ghost are borrowed from a 7-series doesn’t matter; what does is the option to personalize your fitted umbrella with up to two canopy colors and a further option for the beading.
This new Ghost is more ingot than before, with a front fascia that’s been made to look ever so slightly more substantial by moving the grille higher and emphasizing the character lines on the hood. New adaptive LED headlights help widen the look of the nose, just as they put Rolls-Royce back on the lighting-technology lead lap. Similarly, the Ghost Series II sees its interior electronics updated to use the current iteration of BMW iDrive, with a Spirit of Ecstasy–festooned controller that supports touch input.

A firmer suspension setup is now offered as an option on the standard-wheelbase Ghost SII. While the retuned settings certainly allow less listing than with the standard configuration, the Dynamic package is best identified from the driver’s seat by the thicker steering wheel. Pitching the 5600-pound Ghost into a corner still results in tire-squealing understeer.
With the exception of the transmission, the rest of the mechanical package carries over, including the 563-hp, 6.6-liter twin-turbo V-12. The SII replaces the old ZF eight-speed automatic with essentially the same transmission, but now it’s wired into the navigation system so that it can predict when to shift, a setup that first appeared on a Rolls in the Wraith. Shifts in the Ghost were already a nonevent, so it’s hard to tell whether this is legitimate technology or an apparition. What’s indisputable is that the SII Ghost still drives like a Rolls-Royce, wafting along like a hundred-dollar bill caught in a strong updraft.
If you’re truly wealthy, you’re not visiting your local Rolls-Royce dealership to buy a Ghost, but rather a Phantom, at a price that starts just above £260000 ($400,000~) but can require adding a seventh digit.

The BMW X2 - spy photos

BMW is preparing a new crossover for the evergrowing SUV market.

The 2018 BMW X2 would take on the likes of the Range Rover Evoque and compete in an all-new segment for BMW. Despite launching a small SUV – the X1 – the Bavarians believe there is another customer niche who wants an even smaller – yet still premium – SUV.

The X2 will help BMW drop the average age of its customers and bring new drivers to the brand who otherwise wouldn’t consider a BMW. Think about the 20 to 30 year old young professional who – as all the millennials – are interested in design aesthetics, minimalism and premium products.

Tesla's Autopilot approved for international use

At the launch of its latest Autopilot features, Tesla CEO Elon Musk noted that it would roll out the new vehicle capabilities to nations outside the United States once it got regulatory approval. Today Musk tweeted that the company has gotten approval from all those countries (except Japan). Now Tesla owners around the world can enjoy the slightly unnerving feeling of letting their Model S drive itself on the highway. Musk also announced that Autopilot 1.01 would be coming with improved fleet learning, better lane tracking on poor roads, curved speed adoption and controller smoothness.

Tesla's semi-autonomous driving feature, Autosteer is still in the beta stage. Drivers are encouraged to keep their hands on the wheel while the car navigates the road and traffic. If the system gets confused or detect

s a section of road it can't navigate it will inform the driver to take over driving duties.

The improved fleet learning shipping with the Autopilot update should help solve some of the issues the system has with roads with faded markers. As Model S drivers navigate over a problem portion of road, they are mapping it and their lane position.

3 Days diet for weight loss - The Promise diet

The 3 Day Diet

The Promise - was working for me and  just want to share with you !!!

These days, when even instant cereal isn’t fast enough, we want weight loss now, not later. And who could argue with dropping the weight of a large laptop in just one long weekend? The 3 Day Diet promises exactly that.

The diet, aimed at people wanting to lose a lot of weight, claims you’ll drop up to 10 pounds if you follow it for three days.

The menu consists of three breakfasts, lunches, and “dinners” -- if you consider a cup of tuna fish or two hot dogs, plus fruit and vegetable sides, dinner.

One web site that markets the diet claims it’s “chemically and enzyme balanced,” though this statement isn’t explained or supported.

One thing is clear: You won’t be eating much. On Day 1, you get just 870 calories. Days 2 and 3 aren’t much different.

What You Can Eat and What You Can't

For three days, you’ll eat extremely basic meals made with foods you may already have in your kitchen.

For example, breakfast on first Day  is  half a grapefruit, black coffee or water and a slice of toast with a tablespoon of peanut butter. Lunch is half a cup of tuna, another slice of toast, and another cup of black coffee (or tea or water).

If you’re looking for variety or foodie thrills, you won’t find them here.

Lunch on Day 2, for instance, is nothing but a cup of cottage cheese and some saltine crackers. Sauces, dressings, and even spices are off the list. If you have a sweet tooth, though, you’ll be happy to find vanilla ice cream on the menu each day.

Level of Effort: Low

The biggest effort you'll make on the diet may be stopping yourself from reaching for more food.

Limitations: The menu is what it is, with no room for varied palates or eating preferences, though some web sites say you can swap tuna for cottage cheese and vice versa.

Cooking and shopping: This diet is about as low-effort as it gets, short of having meals delivered to your door. Just about the only cooking involved is steaming the vegetables, unless you choose to eat them raw (either is an option).

Exercise: It's frowned on because, as one web site puts it, “you will not be feeling very energetic" while you're on this diet.

Does It Allow for Dietary Restrictions or Preferences?

Vegetarians and vegans: This menu is not for vegetarians or vegans. It’s not low-salt, low-carb, or low-fat, either -- just low-calorie.

Gluten-free: This diet includes toast and crackers, which traditionally include gluten in the wheat. You could buy gluten-free versions if you chose to, but going gluten-free is not a feature of this diet.

What Else You Should Know

This diet was most likely not developed by nutrition experts. One web site that offers the diet includes this warning: “Neither the staff nor management of 3 Day Diets are experienced, licensed, or knowledgeable to judge or recommend the validity or safety of this diet. We do not necessarily endorse this diet and recommend that before trying this or any other diet to consult a physician or licensed medical practitioner. Use at your own risk.”

When judging any diet, including this one, keep in mind two key pieces of advice : First, if a diet sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Second, if you can’t see yourself following the diet for the rest of your life, it’s not for you.
